The Molecular and Cellular Biology Group (MCB) at University of Cape Town (UCT) and the Centre for Proteomic and Genomic Research (CPGR) co-hosted a seminar and workshop on proteomic data analysis. The seminar and workshop was facilitated by Dr Lennart Martens, from VIB at Ghent University (Ghent, Belgium), who was assisted by Dr Zac McDonald from MCB. The event was organised by Dr Zac McDonald from MCB and Mr Greg Khoury from the CPGR.
The aim of the seminar was to provide a high level understanding of the complexities of dealing with proteomics data to an audience that was applying proteomics techniques in their research. The seminar was open to anyone and was attended by students, senior scientists and PI’s alike.
The workshop was targeted at researchers actively working with proteomics data generated by mass spectrometry. The aim of the workshop was to train users in applying open source software and data analysis pipelines for the analysis of their research data.
